Jackie's Story
For a long time, my life looked “normal” from the outside — busy, capable, successful, endlessly pushing through. I didn’t realise how far I’d drifted from my own body, my own breath, my own alignment. Like so many people, I thought resilience meant carrying on, no matter what.
And then Covid arrived; for me it was the straw that broke the donkey's back.
Almost overnight everything I thought I knew about my body, my energy, my identity, and my place in the world was suddenly rewritten. The simplest things became impossible. The big things felt impossible. My nervous system was overwhelmed and my body shut down.
It was frightening, disorienting, and profoundly humbling.
The Turning Point

Recovery didn’t come from pushing harder (although I tried!).
It came from listening differently.
I began exploring breathwork, understanding my nervous system, pacing, emotional regulation, and the quiet practices that help the body feel safe enough to heal. I learned how breath can soften fear, how the nervous system can relearn steadiness, and how alignment isn’t a luxury, it’s medicine.
Slowly, gently, things began to shift.
I found pockets of energy. Moments of clarity. A sense of possibility returning. A life opening again.
I now live a better, happier and healthier life than ever before. I have reconnected with myself, found a path that feels authentically me and have learned to listen to and trust my body in a way I couldn't have imagined just a few years ago.
My recovery wasn’t linear, but it was real. And it changed everything.
The Transformation
As I healed, I realised something: I didn’t want to go back to my old life. I wanted to build a new and better one - one that lit me up, that fulfilled me and that gave me a solid foundation of safety.
My own recovery became the foundation of my work - not as a blueprint, but as lived understanding.
I learned how to hold space for fear, grief, confusion, and hope. How to teach breath in a way that feels safe for sensitive systems. How to help people rediscover joyfulness without forcing positivity. How to guide them back into alignment with the life they’re growing toward.

The Podcast
Along the way, I created The Long Covid Podcast (now The Recovery Room) - a space for honest conversations, evidence‑informed insights, and gentle companionship through the recovery journey. It grew into a trusted resource, and it continues to be a place where people feel seen, supported, and understood.
I do this work because I’ve lived it. I know what it’s like to lose your breath, your energy, your certainty, and your sense of self. I have felt that sense of hopelessness and fear that things might not get better. I also know what it’s like to rebuild - slowly, softly, and with deep respect for the body’s pace.
My story isn’t about “bouncing back.” It’s about returning to myself. It’s about learning to live with joyfulness again. It’s about finding my voice. It’s about choosing alignment over endurance. And it’s about helping others do the same.
The "Why"

If you’re navigating your own recovery, you’re not alone.
Your nervous system can learn safety again.
Your life can open in ways you haven’t yet imagined.
This is the work I’m honoured to do.
This is the story that brought me here.
And if you feel called, I’d love to walk alongside you on your own path.
